Meet Tara, from You Know It Happens At Your House Too!
Tell us more about yourself, your family, and your website.
I am a married mother of 5 kids between the ages of 2 and 10. I have a job with our local school district that allows me to work from home, and stay at home with my kiddos. My hubs, AKA Farmer Bob, is exactly that, a full-time farmer. My website is my newest baby, and I must say, I simply adore it.
What is the Foodie Friday section of your site about? Where do you get your recipe ideas from? Which recipe was your favorite to make, and which recipe did you family seem to enjoy the most?
My Foodie Friday section came from my need for new recipes for my family. I get tired of cooking the same things over and over so I have asked my readers to send me their favorites. We eat them and I have my kids and Farmer Bob review each recipe. I try to alternate weeks and give out some of my recipes one week, and a reader recipe the next. My family has fallen in love with the Parmesan Chicken from my friend One Tired Mama we eat this often, and always have empty plates at the end of the meal!
What made you choose to begin your blog? What topics do you often write about? Which posts happen to be your favorites?
I started my blog at the urging of many family and friends. They found my life and my Facebook posts rather entertaining and they encouraged me to start writing. I love to write about my life. As you can imagine, life with 5 kids is just never boring. I love that I can make people laugh and help them realize that they are not alone in this journey of child rearing.
My favorites…hmmm. This is a tough one.
Without a doubt I must say my letter to Johnny Depp tops the list. http://youknowithappensatyourhousetoo.blogspot.com/2012/04/dear-johnny-or-shall-i-call-you-mr-depp.html
I also love my Suggestions for the Men:

It is hard to pick a favorite, as I love them all!
Having five kids must cost lots of money—what are some ways in which your family tries to save money?
Living out in the country, we have to drive 20-30 minutes just to go out to eat. With 5 kids, that is an ordeal, so we only go out a couple times a month at the most. I am a gardener, so along with the help of the kids, we grow most of our own vegetables, and Farmer Bob raises our beef. We also make it a point to live debt free. If we can’t afford to pay cash, we don’t buy it. It works for us, and really cuts down the financial stress!
What is your biggest challenge being a mom?
This is a difficult question. There are so many challenges that being a mom presents. I think the most difficult thing for me is to have faith in myself. Faith that I (we) are making the right decisions for our kids and leading them down the right path. Raising functional adults is our goal here, and that is a very challenging task!
Do you have any favorite blogs you love to read that you would like to share with our readers?
