What is NewParent.com? What types of articles are on the site?
NewParent.com is a website for expectant, new, and toddler-staged parents. We hope to provide informative and entertaining articles to help expectant and new parents navigate through every parenting stage! Whether an expectant mom wants to read about how to have a healthy and organic pregnancy , or a toddler mom wants to find out when she needs a rear-facing car seat , we help moms stay informed from pregnancy and beyond.
How did NewParent.com start? How long has the site been running?
NewParent.com is the website for NewParent and Baby & Toddler magazines. Both magazines are distributed free through OBGYN and Pediatrician offices, as well as Childbirth Educators. We launched the website a little over two years ago, and we’ve been growing ever since.
Personally, what is your favorite section of the website and why?
I really love our mom blog, A Mom’s Diary. It’s been following new mom Teri from her daughter Eva’s first week, chronicling the ups and downs of being a new parent and the challenges that entails. We’re at Week 43 right now!
NewParent.com also has a NewParent.com community. What makes this forum/community special?
Our community (http://newparent.ning.com/) is a great place for expectant and new moms to go and meet other moms. Whether they’re looking for advice or just want someone else in a similar situation to them to talk to, it’s a great place to hangout online and catch up with moms just like you!
What are a few tips you would give to a new mother?
Don’t live in a bubble! Get out of the house with your newborn and go for walks and meet up with other moms. Being able to share your stories and talk to women who have been where you are right now is extremely comforting.
