Cute Food for Kids? Introducing, Tiffany Yang

Tell us a little more about yourself.

My name is Tiffany Yang, and I am a full time house wife with one 6-year-old boy who is in grade one. I was born and raised in Taiwan, moved to Vancouver, Canada with my parents and my younger brother around 12 years ago.

My blog’s name is “Cute Food For Kids?” There is question mark behind the blog title, because I believe not only kids but grownups should also enjoy cute food on their plates sometimes.

What gave you the idea to create Cute Food For Kids? How long has the site been running for?

I’ve been making fun looking food for my son since he was still a toddler. He was a super picky eater, and I tried everything I could to put food in his mouth including making his food cute. It worked! Well, most of the time.

Cute Food For Kids just turned one year old. I started blogging last year after my son had started full day school.

Do you have a favorite cute food you like to make? If so, which one?

I don’t have too many dessert ideas on my blog. I like to show my readers how to create healthy yet cute looking food from ingredients they can easily find. Things they may already have in their kitchens. I have a lot of cheese creations on my blog because cheese is one thing I always have in my  fridge.

Do your kids also have a favorite cute food they like to eat? Have they learned to make cute foods as well or do they ever help you make the food?

Usually, I work on my cute food projects in the afternoon before my son comes back from school. He doesn’t get to “help” me, but he love to come home and see a fun snack waiting for him on the table. If I get up early enough, which doesn’t happen too often, I make him a cute sandwich for school lunch.

When you are in a hurry and need to cook something quick, what is your go-to food?

If I’m in a hurry, I probably won’t cook anything. Bananas are my go-to food.

Or, I would grab a muffin that’s already wrapped in food films from my freezer. If I had to make a quick and fun lunch, I would use a cookie cutter to cut out a peanut butter sandwich.

Are there any other blogs or helpful websites you recommend to other moms?

This is the most difficult question to answer. There are too many good websites, so it’s hard to make a recommendation. I do visit http://answers.yahoo.com/ when I need advice on motherhood. There are tons of nice people out there who will answer your questions and give you advices!
