Shopaholicmommy – An interview with Ashley Ruzin
We are pleased to have Ashley Ruzin as the second of our interview with real moms.
Tell me about your family and your blog?
I have a 6 year old son, Ashton and my fiance Josh, by my side, always supporting me! I run a site called Shopaholic Mommy’s Must Haves and I feature all kinds of great giveaways and reviews, editorials, tutorials, frugal finds and more! Blogging is a passion of mine and I work on my site 7 days a week to make sure it’s successful.
What is one thing about you that not many people know?
I am a strong advocate for helping addicts find the help to get sober and live productive lives.
What was your biggest challenge being a mom?
My son has actually been very easy to raise! I didn’t have any issues with binkies, weening, potty training or anything parents usually have trouble with. But I’m watching out for his teenage years!
What are the main things kids do that you wish they wouldn’t?
Bully each other. Bullying has always been a big problem in schools and it’s nice to see schools finally starting to take a stand against it.
What common mistakes do you see moms doing that you wish they wouldn’t?
Not spending enough time with their children. You are the biggest influence in your child’s life and it’s important to be there for them always.
What are your top 10 tips for moms?
- Always be there for your child(ren).
- Read to them every night from day one.
- Show them lots of love.
- Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
- Be active in your child’s education.
- Teach your children responsibility at a young age.
- Its ok to need a break and
- Never give up
What are your favorite brands and where do you buy them?
I don’t really have a favorite brand of anything, I try to find products that are affordable and high quality. I feature some of my favorite products on my site including Temptu, Spirit Hoods, and others.
